Managing school files shouldn't feel like a chore, and the Documents section in Content Manager is designed to be just as intuitive as your image library.
The Documents section is your central hub for every PDF, permission slip, and handbook used across your district. By storing files here, you can easily link them to any page on your site while keeping your data organized in one place.
The process is designed to be quick and familiar:
Navigate to Documents: Select Documents from the left-hand sidebar.
Open the Upload Window: Click the blue Upload Document button in the top right corner.
Add Your Files: You can Drag and Drop your files directly into the window or click Select Document to browse your computer.
Note: You can upload a wide variety of formats, including .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, and even .mp3 files.
Organize on the Fly: Before finishing your upload, you can:
Select a Folder: Choose exactly where the file should live.
Add Tags & Keywords: Make the file easier to find later with descriptive labels.
Choose Sites: Select which school sites need access to this document.
Set Privacy & Scheduling: Choose if the file is Public or for Staff only, and set a Publish Date if you want it to appear later.
Once your documents are uploaded, the Documents Dashboard gives you powerful tools to keep things tidy:
Search & Filter: Use the search bar or the Show Filters button to find specific files by title or tag.
List vs. Grid: Switch your view between a detailed List (best for seeing filenames and dates) or a Grid (best for scanning previews).
Bulk Actions: Need to move or delete several files at once? Use the Bulk Options to select multiple documents and then click Move, Edit, or Delete.
Custom Columns: Click Columns to choose which information is visible on your dashboard, such as "Expiry Date" or "Structure".
If you have a document that needs to appear on multiple school sites (like a district-wide Code of Conduct), only upload it once. Use the Sites selection during upload to share it across all relevant locations. This ensures that if the document changes, you only have to update it in one spot!
