Building your site's menu is an essential part of the user experience. The Navigation section in Content Manager is where you control exactly how parents and students find information on your website.
The Navigation section allows you to manage the main menu of your site. Think of this as the "map" for your visitors; the order you set here from top to bottom will match the layout of your menu from left to right on your school site.
Creating an organized menu is easy with our drag-and-drop interface:
Structure Your Items: You can add a main menu item and then create sub-items underneath it to keep related topics grouped together.
Drag and Drop: If you decide a menu item belongs in a different spot, simply drag and drop it anywhere in the tree structure to reorder your links instantly.
Link Types: You have two options for what your menu items point to:
Existing Pages: Link directly to any page you have already built within Content Manager.
Custom Links: Hyperlink to external websites or specific files.
Want to put a "Student Handbook" or "Lunch Menu" PDF directly in your navigation bar? You can!
Go to the Documents section in the sidebar.
Find your document and click the three dots (...) menu on the right side of the file row.
Grab the hyperlink for that document.
Return to Navigation and use that link as a Custom Link in your menu.
As you manage your tree structure, look for these helpful status icons:
๐ Yellow Pin: This label will appear on the Primary Navigation bar of your public website.
๐ Link Icon: This indicates a page that is tied to a navigation label but is not yet shared with the School.
๐ Draft Icon: This indicates a label tied to a page currently in "Draft" mode. It must be Published before it will appear to the public.
Remember: Always click the green Save Navigation button at the bottom of the screen to push your changes live to your site.
